Consort Crop Watch

Join us for a free pre-harvest crop walk! See what varieties are withstanding the heat this year as well as crop scouting and disease management tips. Neil Whatley, AF Crop Specialist and Keith Gabert, Canola Council Agronomist will be there. And you can see the regional variety trial of peas, canola, and triticale. Directions to the site: Drive West on Highway 12 for 9 km and turn South onto RR 7-1. The trials are on the East side of the Range Road. Yesteryear's 20th Annual Old Time Music Jamboree

July 21-23, 2017

Hanna Community Center

Join us for our 20th year celebration! Three days of fine, old time music and dancing with a variety of old time bands! Lunch and refreshments will be available, free RV parking on site (no hook-ups), and all proceeds will go to local charities. There's also a Gospel hour on Sunday from 10:00am to 11:00am. Drumheller & District Humane Society Adoption Drive

Cereal Sports Days

Cereal Sports Grounds

Let's play ball! Bring the family out for a weekend of games, raffle prizes, a dance, and a concession. All teams will be entered into a houseboat draw and one team will be heading out for a house boating experience in the Shushwaps! Games going on all weekend but there's a maximum of 16 teams allowed and spots will fill fast. You can call Tamara at 403-664-7117 to enter. More details here. Verdant Valley Draft Horse Competition

Verdance Valley Community Centre (15kms East of Drumheller on Hwy 576, paved)

12:00pm

A day filled with antique auto and machinery displays and exhibits. Admission is free for the pony driving competition and chore horse competition. If you'd like a beef on a bun supper with live music, cost is $15.00 for adults and $7.00 for youth. There will be a concession on site. You can bring the kids too! 14th Annual Metis Hivernant Days

August 4-6, 2017

Big Valley Jubilee Hall on Main Street

Discover Metis history and culture with us for the weekend! There's hotels to stay in, camping spots, train rides and restaurants. You can see the trappers camp and display vendors offering Traditional Aboriginal crafts. This is a family event, no alcohol is allowed. This is our fourth year holding this event, and it keeps getting better every year. Come check it out! After the parade, we'll cruise down Main Street. Gates open at 9pm for the drive in movie, and this year, you can see the classic movie "Grease" with Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. All proceeds go to the Hanna Youth club. 28th Annual Ride for STARS

TL Bar Ranch - Along Red Deer River near Tolman Bridge

This is the longest running volunteer fundraiser for STARS. Event includes a trail ride, poker rally, silent auction, raffle, pancake breakfast, Goouch's gang lunch, country cookers BBQ beef supper, "ducks 'n' dogs" show, and so much more. All proceeds go to STARS.


Blackfoot Crossing Cancer Event

Come join us for our 3rd annual cancer fundraiser ride. Whether you're on horseback, wagon or by foot, we will take you along the Bow River including the site of Treaty 7 which was signed in 1877. A group lunch will be provided along with a silent auction to follow. Cost is $25.00 for riders and wagon rides, $80.00 for a family of 4, $120.00 for a family of more than 4 people, $20.00 for walkers, and $10.00 for the meal only. To date, this ride has raised just over $4200.00 in support of the Alberta Cancer Foundation. For more info, click here.

Topics include stressors associated with grief and bereavement, signs and symptoms of grief, communication and responses to grieving children, supports for parents and children when both are grieving, and coping with traumatic loss.
