Drumheller Canada Day Parade

The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce proudly organizes and funds the Canada Day parade in Drumheller each year. Our Canada Day parade celebration has always been FREE to enter, and we welcome all businesses, groups and individuals to register.

Theme for the 2018 Canada Day Parade, as chosen by an online poll: THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Parade Rules:

* While travelling along the route, participants must keep up with the float in front of them. No stopping is allowed along the route to ensure even flow from the first float to the last without any gaps or a disruption in flow of parade traffic.

* For Safety Purposes, candy and/or promotional items MUST BE handed out. DO NOT throw items from your vehicle. As per our insurance requirements, throwing of candy or items is NOT allowed. 

*As this is a public event, please ensure that any music played from floats is appropriate for all ages.

* NO WATERGUNS. No Peanuts.

*Any animals prior to or during the parade being seen as acting erratically will be asked to exit the parade route.

* Large commercial vehicles (ie. semi-trucks, long trailers, farm equipment) will be placed at the end of the parade (lining up on 17th Street) regardless of category.

July 1 which includes games and activities, food and beverages, and great entertainment. The day is wrapped up with a spectacular fireworks display.

Ag in Motion Bus Tour

Starland County will be hosting an overnight bus tour to Ag in Motion, which is an outdoor farm expo that takes places 20 minutes NW of Saskatoon.  It is the largest agricultural trade show in Western Canada that provides an outdoor venue for progressive farmers that want to see and feel the latest agricultural innovations.  Ag in Motion brings innovation to the field through interactive exhibits and live field and crop plot demonstrations.  The Expo was created to empower farmers by providing the knowledge they need to  make informed decisions for their operations.  The primary objective of this tour is to showcase these new technologies in agriculture to our area farmers.  For more information or to register please call Dara at (403)772-3793.  Pleae note: This tour is offered to Starland County residents only.  After June 25th, the tour will be opened up to non-residents.

Africa in the Valley

This event is a fundraiser for two sickle cell kids living in Africa that need bone marrow transplants after finding matches. 

There will be food, entertainment; live music, dance, fashion show, display of African items that can be purchased and short speeches for sickle cell awareness.

10th Annual Battle River Ride for Stars

A non profit registered charitable group of local people who raise money for STARS helicopters. This is the 10th annual ride and they want to make it a big one.

The first Tuesday of the month we set aside time for info. sharing, questions, support for caregivers and family and suggestions for helping each other thru the progression of this disease. We usually have some exercises before we go home. 

The remaining Tuesday's are exercise days. We make use of the walk in track as well as take advantage of the exercises that are available on YouTube .

We would like to open these exercise days for anyone that struggles with mobility issues. You don't have to have Parkinson's to join!

Please note there is no special trainer or advisor that we use for our exercises. Everyone must be aware of their own abilities and limitations.
